Updated for the Safehouse in the Hills update.

Summary

  • Best Bunker Location: Chumash or Farmhouse
  • Best Bunker Upgrades: Equipment and Staff
  • Buy supplies instead of stealing them
  • Sell to Los Santos for a bonus payout
  • Solo Players: Sell one bar for single vehicle delivery

Introduction
Introduced in the Gunrunners update, the bunker has become one of the best businesses to own within Grand Theft Auto Online. While the initial investment is steep, the long-term payoff will make it worth it. Acting as a passive business similar to the MC Businesses and Acid Lab, the Bunker will pay out $210,000 for a single bar and upwards of $1,050,000. Making this a worthy investment for solo and group players. In addition, players can buy and store a Mobile Operations Centre, compete in the shooting range and run new missions.

Locations and Upgrades
There are two locations that are best for the Bunker, Chumash and the Farmhouse. They are close to the highway and the closest Bunkers to Los Santos, making them the best locations for selling. When it comes to Bunker upgrades, nothing is a must have except for the Staff and Equipment upgrades that are listed further down.

Sourcing Materials
Working in a similar manner to MC Businesses and the Acid Lab, there are three ways to source materials.

  • Manually Sourcing: From the Disruption Logistics website or Master Control Terminal, you can manually source gunrunning materials. Like MC Businesses, these missions can be tedious, long and generally not worth the effort.
  • Buying Material: Once again from the Disruption Logistics website, Master Control Terminal or by calling Agent 14, you will pay $75,000 to source material. This is the recommended way, as you can focus on other activities.
  • Stash House: Introduced in the Los Santos Drug War update, stash houses now appear around the map every real life day. Raiding the stash house will reward players with a small amount of product for one of their businesses. Note the business is random and can include the MC Businesses and Acid Lab.

You will need to wait 2 hours and 10 minutes for a single bar of stock to be ready, this does not account for the boost that can be applied from the Mansion property. Take this time to work on other businesses or activities. A note for the Bunker, make sure you set your staff to "Manufacturing", this will ensure weapons are ready on time and on value.

Research vs Manufacturing
The Bunker isn't just for manufacturing weapons, it is the only business where players can unlock weapon upgrades like Explosive Sniper Rounds, Thermal Scopes, and vehicle weapons like Missiles for the Oppressor. Researching will require supplies used for weapon manufacturing, therefore, it can be a juggling act as to what takes priority. In addition, it is important to note that each item of research is randomly assigned. Meaning you can't pick the items you want and forget about research. The good news is you can pay a small fortune to speed up research. While the option to split evenly between the options exist, it is rarely worth the time. Focus on one at a time.

Selling Materials
Rockstar Games was kind enough to extend Bunker sell missions, making selling a Bunker a much more pleasant experience. Like MC Businesses, some sell vehicles should be avoided due to the slow pace or missions type, those being the Dune Buggies and Monster Truck. If you fill the bunker completely up to its $1,050,000 cap, you will be need to handle up to four delivery vehicles simultaneously, which can be hard as a solo player. Below are some tips for selling.

  • Always sell to Los Santos, the 50% bonus profit is always worth it.
  • Selling one bar of stock will always give players a single vehicle delivery, even when sold to Los Santos. There is plenty of time to make the trip, which is good for solo players.
  • If you launch a sale and see the Dune buggies or Monster trucks, find a new session. You will lose 10% of product, but you can immediately restart the mission to secure an easy single-drop Phantom Wedge or Insurgent. This is especially helpful if you are selling solo.
  • Use Ghost Organization if you can, it will hide you from other players in public lobbies.

The Camo Insurgent Mission, easy enough when it is only one vehicle. Expect Merryweather at every drop location.

Excess Weapon Parts
Introduced in the Criminal Enterprises update, every 48 minutes (one in-game day), a truck of excess weapons can be driven from your bunker to a random Ammu-Nation for a profit of $50,000. Aim to include this in your routine where you can, plus the $50,000 can go towards resupplying your businesses.

Is the Bunker worth it in 2026?
Yes, despite being an older business, it holds up incredibly well in 2026. The Bunker can be intimidating at first, but it is one of the best money makers in GTA Online. From balancing Manufacturing and Research, to the exploring the Mobile Operations Centre, and completing Shooting Range challenges, there is plenty of fun to be had and decent money to be made. With the business running passively in the background, it allows for players to focus on other content, come back at the end of a playthrough and sell to make a tidy profit.
