Introduction
Introduced in the Chop Shop update, the Salvage Yard has become an excellent business for money making in Grand Theft Auto Online. The Salvage Yard has two main components, Salvage Yard Robberies, where the player works with Yusuf Amir and his cousin, Jamal Amir, who task the player with completing small scale heists that possibly involve infiltrating a cargo ship, storming a police station and disrupting an Arena War match. Afterwards the player can either sell the vehicle to Yusuf for a larger profit or scrap it through the salvage yard. These robberies can net you roughly $1,000,000 per week. The other being the legal side of the business, where players use the Tow Truck to repossess vehicles to be broken down for money.
Location and Upgrades
With all the Robberies occurring within Los Santos, barring one (The McTony Robbery), the best locations for the Salvage Yard are those close to Terminal. Locations such as Strawberry, Murrieta Heights and La Puerta, make set-ups, the robbery and delivery of the vehicle much quicker. Having your Salvage Yard at one of those locations will shorten delivery time and lessen the risk of others destroying your vehicle.

Salvage Yard Robberies
There will be three vehicles available each week, with prices ranging from $250,000 to $400,000. These multi-stage robberies consist of two structured setups, several freemode setups and the finale. Robbery setups can be completed in any order and can be completed over several sessions. Each Robbery can take roughly 45 minutes if luck is on your side (sometimes frustrating AI sharpshooters or fiddly mechanics can lengthen this time). After securing the vehicle, you have two choices.
- You can sell it directly to Yusuf at the docks for maximum profits. This involves driving the vehicle to the docks, with ideally not taking any damage.
- Or scraping the vehicle for parts at your Salvage Yard for roughly 20% less money, but no travel is needed.
It is important to note that you can sell more than one vehicle to Yusuf, as long as you have the required associates, i.e. selling three cars needs three players in your Organization or Motorcycle Club.

Tow Truck Service
A simple yet effective way to make money and can be easily slotted into any money grind routine, is the Tow Truck Service. You go to the vehicle, tow it back to the Salvage Yard and wait 48 minutes for the staff to dismantle it. Each car dismantled with pay anywhere from $30,000 to $40,000 and raises your Safe income.
Like the Nightclub, the Salvage Yard safe has a “popularity” metre that is maintained from towing vehicles. Each tow gives your Salvage Yard 25 popularity points. Popularity declines by 5 points every real-world hour. This means every hour and a half (or two in game days), you will want to tow a vehicle to maintain the popularity, this maintains the maximum safe deposit of $24,000.
Is the Salvage Yard worth it in 2026?
The Salvage Yard is a solid investment in Grand Theft Auto Online! The robberies are generally easy missions that take roughly 45 minutes to do and offer roughly $1,000,000 for all three. The Tow Truck Service fits in money grinding routines quite well and the safe, if maximised, is the 2nd highest paying safe thus far. Overall a good business, is solo friendly, offers versatile gameplay, and it never gets old hearing Yusuf's antics.
